Advancing excellence in Delaware County’s Parks
The Delaware County Parks Conservancy is a volunteer-led non-profit organization working alongside the Delaware County Parks and Recreation Department and its partners.
Why a Conservancy?
Parks are where Delaware County comes together. From playgrounds and trails to athletic fields and community gatherings, great county parks help strengthen neighborhoods, improve health, and enrich everyday life.
But public parks require more than public funding.
Across the country, park conservancies help communities enhance parks through philanthropy, volunteerism, partnerships, programming, and community leadership.
The Delaware County Parks Conservancy was created to help bring those same opportunities to Delaware County.

Our vision is to help establish Delaware County as a model of park excellence through a sustainable, equitable, and fully integrated parks and recreation system that brings value to all residents.
Answering the need:
While Delaware County has ambitious plans for its parks, additional philanthropic, corporate, and community investment can help accelerate implementation and expand opportunities for residents.
The Conservancy works by:
Supporting Public Investment: Championing the proposed 2026 Greenspace Bond Referendum and public grant applications.
Securing Funds: Gathering private donations, philanthropic gifts, and public grants that are unavailable through standard county budgets.
Boosting Capacity: Providing agile funding for marketing, expert consultants, and specialized park programming.
Currently underway: board formation, fiscal sponsorship, and a formal agreement with the county.
