The Delaware County Parks Conservancy is a volunteer-led non-profit organization supporting the Delaware County Parks and Recreation Department and its partners. We secure private financial resources, advocate for park excellence, and mobilize volunteers to expand and improve the County's parks, open spaces, greenways, and trails.
Our immediate priorities include:
Plan Implementation: Accelerating the Open Space, Recreation, and Greenway Plan, focusing first on parks and communities with the greatest need.
Community Engagement: Informing, advocating, managing supplementary events, expanding programs that connect residents to nature and each other.
Green Infrastructure: Advocating for equitable, high-quality parks as essential to public health and community wellbeing.
Expert Resources: Supporting funding for high quality professional planning, design consultations, and high-value capital construction.

Our vision is to help establish Delaware County as a model of park excellence through a sustainable, equitable, and fully integrated park and trail system that brings value to all residents.
Answering the need
While Delaware County has comprehensive development plans for its park system, limited public funding delays crucial physical and programming improvements.
The Conservancy accelerates these vital projects by:
Advocating for Growth: Championing the proposed 2026 Greenspace Bond Referendum and public grant applications.
Securing Funds: Gathering private donations, philanthropic gifts, and public grants that are unavailable through standard county budgets.
Boosting Capacity: Providing agile funding for marketing, expert consultants, and specialized park programming.
